Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and three months after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.Lead the technical team through system-level integration and test and early flight operations, ensuring appropriate resolution of anomalies and issues.Evaluate test and analyses artifacts from verification and validation plan execution.Define tests and analyses necessary to demonstrate the system meets its requirements and will meet science objectives. Plan and perform verification and validation of the system. Manage the technical baseline by establishing and managing requirements and technical resources.Lead the overall technical team across multiple disciplines, providing direction, gathering information, identifying risks, and making decisions to improve the likelihood of mission success.Studies look at design options and determine the system-level impacts of those options, optimizing performance within cost and schedule constraints. Conduct engineering trade studies to help mature mission and instrument concepts.Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop feasible mission and instrument architecture outlining the baseline approach to the various mission elements: flight, ground, launch vehicle, concept of operations, and instruments.Duties assigned at a lower grade level will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee. Duties described below are at the full-performance level.
